Job board and recruiting website Indeed has rolled out a new automated application assessment that makes the screening candidates much more efficient, while also giving applicants a chance to shine earlier in the application process.
The new screening process now enables hiring managers and human resources professionals to add an extra step as part of the online job application process, requiring that the candidate preparing a voice recorded response to four standard job interview questions.
Now, job applicants will want to be prepared earlier for questions about their background, their interest in the role, past accomplishments, in addition to preparing anecdotal evidence for a time in their professional background where they faced a difficult situation.
The new automated assessment feature will make identifying and contacting the right candidates through Indeed much easier for Recruiters and Hiring Managers.
By assessing a candidate’s initial responses to basic interview questions, those in charge of hiring and recruiting will be able to tell very quickly the level of professionalism and attention-to-detail a candidate possesses, in addition to the care taken throughout the application process.
For candidates and job seekers looking to stand out within the new application framework, it will be important to prepare thorough, yet succinct responses to standard interview questions.
Also, as always, it will be more important than ever to make sure grammatically, all application documents are up-to-date and contain no errors.
