We are often asked what we mean by becoming a top 5% candidate. This can be mistaken as a top candidate by skill set, but what our view point is how you are perceived on paper can drastically change how many calls you get back.
What is the most successful way to get an interview? It is by having an inside source that can hand a resume directly to a hiring manager for review.
So what happens when you don’t have that inside source? You find yourself applying to job posting online which puts you in the mix of hundreds of resumes. This is where we want you to stand out at as a top 5% candidate. This is not the time for fancy gimmicks, crafty styles or graphics that catches the eye, this is all presence. A hiring manager should be able to glance at your resume while sorting through the stack and say “this candidate has their act together” and they put you in the short list for consideration.
When you have a stack of 200 resumes it is easy to be selective, you can tell who put in the time and energy for their career search vs. those that didn’t. It is a highly competitive job market right now, when you look at your resume do you feel you’re in the top 10 of 200? If not please contact us for a free evaluation.
