Construction adds another 118,000 employees (3 percent) to the L.A. economy followed by information services which employs 109,000 people (2 percent). Other services employ 95,100 people (2 percent) and finally mining, logging and construction provides 11,600 jobs (less than 1 percent).
The entertainment industry, of course, is one of the most iconic and recognizable sectors in Los Angeles. Manufacturing, retail trade, health care and social assistance all make up important components of LA’s job market too.
